Thanks God that’s over with! I finally completed and mailed my taxes out. I even had 2 1/2 days to spare. You may be thinking to yourselves: “Good grief! What a procrastinator!”. If you are thinking this to yourself, then it is clear to me that you have no idea what the true meaning of procrastination is. Last year, for all sorts of clever reasons and excuses, I didn’t finish the taxes until sometime around September or October (I forget which). That my friend; is true procrastination.
To all of those folks out there who haven’t finished their form 1040 or extension paper work. I salute you.
Posted by paul at April 14, 2004 03:09 PMSee, I'm too greedy to wait until the last minute. If there's even a prayer of me getting a return (which I've gotten every year), then I do my taxes in February! But, then again, "doing" my taxes means taking them to our accountant and chatting for an hour while he does them... Its the best money I've ever spent.
Posted by: Jen at April 14, 2004 09:31 PMSometimes it's good to have a friend on the "inside." I (i.e. my H&R Block buddy) finished my taxes around 10:30 Tuesday night and waived the fee. What an angel! I so should have done this months ago, considering I could certainly have used the return. Ah well, I wouldn't be me if I didn't procrastinate.
Posted by: Amit at April 15, 2004 10:49 AMI got a call from my tax preparer last night around 9pm. For the last three years I have used him and saw his fee almost double each year, so this year I took my paperwork to another CPA. I was so suprised to hear from him. He said "did you forget to come in? Did you forget tomorrow is tax day?" He said these things because I have been his final tax filler 3 years in a row. "no" I said, "I found someone cheaper." "OK" he said, "I get to go home early then, thanks"

He should at least stay long enough to make a note that he should lower his prices....
