God bless the Air Force. My whole base is taking a 4 day weekend starting today. I must say that it is a about dang time. Sometimes ol Uncle Sam works us service member types to death, but maybe it just makes us appreciate the time that we do get that much more. And for the icing on the cake: I don’t even have the office cell phone with me this weekend. Can you say “Sweet!!”?
I’m not sure why I’m still up and piddling on the computer. I think that the reason is a combination between being excited about the prospect of sleeping-in and holding out for Lucas’ midnight diaper change/snack that is now about 1 ˝ hours over due. In fact, I think that this is almost the longest that he has ever slept in one go. He is already past the 4 hour mark. Yup, I would say that we are getting into the any minute now territory for the change and midnight snack.
Opps! The Air Conditioning just kicked in. That’s bad (this often wakes him up if he is anywhere past 2-3 hours of sleep). Sure enough, I am hearing a few sounds on the baby monitor. Maybe if I type very softly.... Yea! The AC just turned itself off (stupid AC!). Maybe Lucas will go for the record tonight…just another hour.
When Lucas came into the world, many of my friends and coworkers told me that their children started sleeping through the night after 2 months and that Lucas was sure to do the same thing. Needless to say, Lucas has had other plans. :) ...well so much for the record, duty calls.....
Killy's now three days old and he's slept 3-3.5 hours straight each night - I'm hoping that he'll be sleeping through the night within a couple months!
Funny, all our friends told us over and over again about how their babies NEVER slept through the night...
