I’ve been using the so-called Internet café at the billeting facility on base. Theoretically this is a high speed connection. A very pretty yellow line connects the computer’s housing to a sleek looking 7 inch tall black box with a cable connection running into it. This means a Cable connection right? Unfortunately, in this case it means about 9-18K. It takes about 45 seconds to load google’s home page. And google.com is not a very big load. Opening other, more challenging pages is a matter of sincere patience. Instead of internet-surfing, I am internet beached…with a sun burn...with sand in my britches....and without an unbrella....well you get the picture. O well.
Otherwise I have had a wonderful time of things today. I went out and explored Dayton’s Architecture scene. Which is actually very cool for a city of this size. There are several 4 to 6 story tall brick load bearing buildings from 1890s. The masonry work is fantastic on more than a few of these gyms. There are also 3 Frank Lloyd houses within an hours drive of the base, but unfortunately they are all closed to the public.
Rheagan and Lucas are visiting their cousins in Saint Luis. I’m concerned that Rheagan may be covertly trying to turn Lucas into a Saint Luis Rams fan. This will not be tolerated! The family rule is Skins, Chargers or bust.
