Mega multi-class Elvis Ease Dropping

Good Grief! I must be blind, def, and dumb. ...and maybe not so sharp. I was trying to look up a particular teacher from my high school days (My thank-you-letters are all long overdue...and I am in rare form for writing at the moment). Normally, I can make short work of internet searches. However, this one was not going so well....after about 15 minutes, I had a whole bunch of nothing. I was starting to get the notion that my hometown, for the most part, just didn't exist on the internet. Then I came across a string that at least mentioned the teacher's last name and my hometown on the same page. It turned out to be a MySpace page. I clicked the link.

Up until this particular mouse-click, I had not really spent any time scoping out MySpace. Never really gave it much thought. I have a few friends that use LiveJournal, but I never made an account...just couldn't bring myself to do it. Clicking through MySpace is kind of like playing “five steps to Kevin Bacon” (or whatever that game is called). You can find almost anyone in very short order. Anyways, In all of ten minutes, I seemed to be finding MySpace sites for every graduate of dear ol GHS since the War of 1812. It felt sort of like a mega multi-class High School reunion, but without talking to anyone. Actually, it felt more like ease dropping on a mega multi-class High School reunion. Or maybe not, as I have skipped all of my High School reunions and cannot speak with any sort of authority on the matter.

With maybe two or three important exceptions, more than a decade separates me from everyone I knew in that lazy corner of South-West Virginia. The whole experience has stirred up a bunch of miss filed mostly forgotten memories.

Anyways, this made me look about about a little more....and yes, it turns out that half of the folks on the PRT here have MySpace sites. Indeed, as it turns out (after even more snooping), I might be the only person on the planet that does not have one of these sites. Its kind of like I have failed some part of the human evolutionary process.... Ill bet that with enough left clicking through MySpace, that we could run down everyone's favorite member of the Saud Bin Laden family. Shucks....in less that ten minutes I found both Jimmy Hoffa and Elvis. Actually, I found several Elvis-es, but thats besides the point.
