World's Tallest Pyramid Discovered!

It has been recently reported that a pyramid some “80 meters higher” than Khufu's 'Great Pyramid' has been discovered in Visoko Bosnia (which is about 30 kilometers north of Sarajevo). I am usually very intrigued and excited when significant archeological info is put out on the street.....but this is just too fantastic.

What makes me incredulous is the idea that that mankind has managed not to notice (until now) a 220-meter, or 722-ft, tall pyramid lying around Europe and overlooking a fairly big city no less! This is like New Yorkers not noticing the Statue of Liberty for a couple thousand years. Or DC-ites not noticing the Washington Monument (for perspective’s sake: the WM is just 169 meters or 555-ft tall). Or like the Japanese not noticing Mt Fuji and one day reporting, out of nowhere: “giant active volcano discovered 30k west of Japanese capitol”

Keep your eyes peeled. A giant ancient pyramid could be near you!

Ahh Kendo

Today at Kendo practice I knocked Ely on his duff, broke Mason’s Do and broke Mike’s thumb. All of this despite not hitting too hard and not locking-up too much....or so I'm telling myself. I felt like king of the hill (for all the wrong reasons!).

so,...I will probably receive a giant beat-down next week. lol

{Mike - I hope i didnt break your thumb }

More Gooder Acronym

Of course, since I just posted all this on a blog. Maybe I should call it WOWAABA (World of Warcraft- Aholics Anything But Anonymous) or something or another. After all, he more ridiculous the acronym the better…or so they tell me at the office

WOWAA

A few months ago, I started playing World of Warcraft (wow). I have found it to be horribly addictive. So I have decided to stop playing all together and kick it to the curb.

To ensure that I am able to follow through with my declaration, I have developed a 5 step process for getting un-hooked to wow. The 5 step plan is titled WOWAA (World of Warcraft-Aholics Anonymous).

Step 1: Denial – "I have no problem. Playing video games is perfectly normal behavior. If more people played video games like wow (which is basically about killing things and talking other people into helping you kill things) then the world would be a better place".
Step 2: Pretend Acceptance – "ok I have a problem, but who cares! WoW is so cool"
Step 3: True Acceptance – "ok, ok, I know its bad. But I really Really need it!"
Step 4: Anger – "why me! Why should I be made to suffer thusly" (Try throwing something…but nothing too heavy since you are completely out of shape from playing too much wow and haven’t spent enough time outside or in the gym!)
Step 5: Release – Release the wow software CDs to your 2 year old kid so that he/she can ensure said disks are unreadable should the WoW-aholic in remission have a laps of judgment and try to reinstall the software. "well, so much for that"

If you, gentle reader, are a wow player, I encourage you to look at the ridiculous # of hours of your life that you have dumped into wow and then consider adopting the 5 step WOWAA plan.

5 Yrs old

So a couple of days ago. Lucas, Rheagan and I where out at the local playground having a merry old time. Lucas was making short work out of the twisty slide and keeping himself happily occupied. Rheagan was using the contents of Lucas’ chalk bag to recreate Rembrandt’s The Prodigal Son ....or maybe she was just making smiley faces. Hard to say for sure.

Anyways, the next thing I know, Rheagan challenges me to a game of tic-tac-toe… and says that I can go first. With the knowledge of being able to go first, I accept the challenge. I picked up the chalk landed a big X in the center of the tic-tac-toe grid. Rheagan pauses a moment and then says "you know, tic-tac-toe is no fun unless your playing a 5-yr old". She then turns back to her Rembrandt, leaving me to consider the tic-tac-toe field of battle and the '5-year-old' comment.

I have concluded that up until the moment that I placed an X in the center of the tic-tac-toe board that she had considered me a 5-year-old (or younger!). This knowledge has made my tic-tac-toe conquest a very bittersweet victory.

I have yet to beat Rheagan at Checkers....so what does that make me? 6?
